For this production of The Magic Flute, there were two sets of Papageno's Magic Bells. A smaller, primary one worn by Papageno built by Prop Crafts. The second, was this scaled up version used during a ballet sequence. The structure made from MIG welded 16 gauge steel, wrapped in 1/2" plywood. Various trims were applied and a handle for the crank was turned. The handle was then rigged by the Electric department to turn via a DMX controlled motor. The top was poured resin, which provided a smooth dance surface, impregnated with glitter. The Scenic Art department base coated and applied glitter to the entire piece.
